Freedom is something I have worked so hard to make
Something I will not let anyone break
Freedom is a piece of what I wished to be
And no one can take that away from me
Not an evil or darkness and haunt
Freedom is never going to dangle me on a string
But from my smile ring
Freedom is a road on which I travel
Nothing will stop me, not friend, lover or judge’s gavel
Freedom is what I truly need
Please don’t take it from me with greed
Freedom is something to hold my heart in its hand
Not a knot in an ever tightening rope strand
Freedom is something I will someday attain
Along the path is much pain
Freedom is something that I will have in my heart
Long ago down the road I did start
Freedom is something we all should someday hold,
Go ahead, start the journey, be so bold.

This is actually a scan (I know, not a picture and not mine) of some stationary, the stationary that I first picked out for this poem and its been sitting in my file cabinet for well, more then 10 years waiting to be, free. The image is owned by its respective owner, if they have an issue, they can contact me.

This poem was something I wrote while I was just out of a problem relationship. I thought that having my own place would give me freedom, but alas, life had some slightly different plans in the works.
